NLUJAA IT SECTION
About:
The IT Section of the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam has been set up as a technical annexure of the University to cater as a gateway to the Information Super Highway. Since inception, this centre has been providing support for the various IT related services for the University.
Infrastructure:
IT Section is equipped with a couple of High-end servers with networking equipments which house the University Intranet Portal, Squid proxy servers for distributing the high speed Internet, KOHA Library management system, ERP Accounting software, DHCP servers and OpenVPN server to serve Remote Access of subscribed Online Databases and other OPAC sites. The Administrative Block, Academic Block and the two hostels are connected through Fibre Optics and Wi-Fi enabled through access points, which is accessible round the clock. LAN connectivity is provided to students at there respective Hostel Rooms.
IT Section is having a Computer Lab which is functional comprising of a score of high configured computer desktops and High Availabilty Power Banks with capacity of 40KVA redundant Online UPS system resulting high capacity output and reliable power supply.
Services:
The University is hooked up to the National Knowledge Network (NKN), an initiative of the Government of India implemented by the National Implementation Agency, National Informatics Centre (NIC); which is providing a massive bandwidth of 1 Gbps connectivity. The University Intranet portal maintained by the centre provides a single window access to the various notifications through the E-notice board and it also facilitates connectivity to all the subscribed Online Databases as well as other OPAC sites. The course materials are also available in the Intranet Portal for students of NLUJAA. IT Section also provides the Remote access facility to access the Online Databases and OPAC sites remotely from outside the campus network. The University have Video Conferencing Systems installed at Lecture Galleries, Conference Halls, Seminar Halls and Moot Court to conduct interactive sessions in Video conferencing mode so as to facilitate the students of the University to interact with the faculty members of other National Law Universities.
In addition to the above, the Centre gives round the clock support for network, hardware and software issues pertaining to the faculty, staff and the student also.
